SOFI TUKKER @ 9:30 Club - 10/23/2019
Dance pop duo SOFI TUKKER, comprised of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, brought an electric energy to a sold-out crowd at The 9:30 Club. The stage was decorated with a jungle-themed set, covered in fluorescent artificial plants, including a tree with glowing panels that could be played as an instrument.
The duo took the stage to a “Drinkee” intro and opened with “Fuck They,” while the rest of the set was made up of songs off of their album Treehouse and their recently released EP Dancing On The People in its entirety. The duo enthusiastically danced and interacted with the crowd throughout the set, which featured some call and response songs and a game of Simon Says. They ended the night with a new song, “Sacrifice,” followed by “Drinkee.”
Australian Electro Pop trio Haiku Hands and DJ LP Giobbi opened the show. LP Giobbi took the stage first and also kept the energy going in between sets. Haiku Hands and LP Giobbi joined Sofi Tukker on stage to dance to a new song “Emergency,” which Tukker explained is about Sofi breaking her leg on stage.
