Playing in the Songbyrd Vinyl Lounge on Saturday night was Philly punk rock group Trash Boy. The trio of Chris Fortunato and Dan Baggarly on guitar and Nolee Morris on drums was joined by Gary Clarke. With song titles like “Fuck New York” and “40s and Blunts,” you should know that you don’t need to dig deep to for subtext. They’re full of political rage, and they aren’t afraid to blow their vocal chords conveying all that rage. They’re loud, in your face, and a lot of fun. For fans of Jeff Rosenstock, Diet Cig, and Bad Moves, this is a band that’s worth seeing live.
Their debut album The Future is Trash is out now through Brain Pneumonia Records.
