Bleachers @ The Anthem [DC] - 09/24/21
Bleachers took the sadness out of Friday night when they brought the “Take The Sadness Out of Saturday Night Tour” to a sold-out show at The Anthem in the nation’s capital. They opened the show with “91,” a ballad off of their latest album, and then abruptly changed the pace with one of their classics, “Let’s Get Married.” Highlights include fans climbing onto each other’s shoulders during “Rollercoaster,” Claud joining Jack onstage to perform “Secret Life”, and a cover of Tom Waits “Jersey Girl,” where Jack replaced the lyrics in the chorus with “DMV Girl.” Antonoff shared his love for the DC music scene and the 9:30 Club and exclaimed that this show at this Anthem was the largest audience Bleachers has ever played for on tour.
Bleachers is joined on tour by Claud, a bedroom pop artist from Chicago. Claud’s album, Super Monster is out now via Phoebe Bridgers’ record label, Saddest Factory.
