All Things Go is back and bigger than ever. DC’s music festival brought their seventh annual event to Merriweather Post Pavilion. With four times the capacity of their previous Union Market location, the festival included two stages packed with incredible acts alongside DJ sets in Merriweather’s 9:32 Club. Despite a patch of rain that drenched attendees in the middle of the day, the festival went off without a hitch otherwise for fans looking to see both established and up-and-coming acts.

These were some of the highlights:

Blu DeTiger

Tiktok’s favorite bass player took the Chrysalis stage right before the rain started. Having previously toured as a bass player with Caroline Polachek and FLETCHER, Blu’s solo music blew up on Tiktok during the pandemic. She performed the entirety of her debut EP, How Did We Get Here?

girl in red

22-year-old Norwegian artist girl in red delivered a super energetic set on the main stage. She performed fan favorites like “I wanna be your girlfriend” and “bad idea!” Between songs, she would engage with fans in the crowd, talking and laughing with the people up front like she was talking to friends.

St. Vincent

St. Vincent brought a full-on stage production for her Daddy’s Home era, which included dancers and a revolving backdrop based on 1970s-era New York City. At the beginning of her set, an imposter St. Vincent joined her dancers on stage, only for the real St. Vincent to suddenly appear on the revolving stage behind them. Seeing her latest album brought to life in full visual fashion was a fantastic experience.

Charli XCX

The iconic and iconoclastic pop star Charli XCX headlined the Chrysalis stage, a futuristic neon structure in the middle of the woods that visually complimented her future-forward pop music. She delivered a perfect mix of older fan favorites like “I Love It” and “Boom Clap,” and experimental electro-pop bangers like “Click,” “Visions,” and of course, the iconic industry-shifting “Vroom Vroom.” Charli stans have been known to channel the devil when she performs the track live, and judging by the amount of screaming on Saturday night, that continued to be the case at her All Things Go set.

HAIM

HAIM ended the night with a phenomenal performance. The trio of sisters performed the bulk of their latest album, Women In Music Pt. III, as well as “Don’t Save Me,” “The Wire” and “Right Now.”
