Was Glen Campbell as one of the greatest shredders of all time?

Satch could never…

Glen Campbell didn’t start out wanting to be the ultimate guitar shredder. He didn’t end that way either. In fact, when you think of renowned shredders, names like Van Halen, Malsteem, or Vai are more likely to come to mind. But somewhere along the road of his storied career as a member of the legendary Wrecking Crew, melancholy solo artist, and the Rhinestone f***ing Cowboy actual, Campbell showed time and time again that he was one of the best that ever did it.

You’re to be excused for sleeping on this revelation. Most people still do. Because fame is funny like that. Why would the same guy who broke our hearts with tracks like “Wichita Lineman” or “Galveston” also be able to melt our brains with blazing guitar heroics before guitar heroics were even a thing? It doesn’t make sense. But magic isn’t supposed to make sense, only delight.

And so, for your delight, we present this 16-minute supercut of some of Campbell’s finest moments absolutely BERATING his guitars in ways that we have rarely seen before or since.
