It's been a long road for Lights aka Valerie Anne Poxleitner, who headlined at the 9:30 Club last Sunday on the latter part of her year long tour. After this leg, her touring days are put to a halt as she heads back in the studio to make new music. So if you haven't had a chance to see this girl in action, don't miss out - it'll be awhile until you see Lights again.

Lights brought her own brand of electro-pop to the stage with a stellar lightshow (of course) and complete control of her environment. The solo front-woman came on and dove right into "Fourth dimension" and "Peace sign". She thanked the crowd and smoothly transitioned to her popular hit "Second Go". That was pretty much when the house went wild with high energy from her loyal SOULgiers waving their hands and bobbing their heads trying to absorb the beats.

The tempo slowed down a bit when she sang her classic ballads like "February Air" and "Heavy Rope" interjecting in-between songs to greet happy birthday to a fan spending his special day at her show. Apparently she liked his red flannel too. "Good choice" she stated.

Through the frenzy, it was revealed that one of her the band members now has a twitter account. In creepy unison, everyone pulled out their phones to frantically search for him. And THAT is how you get followers on twitter - have Lights announce it and you're good to go.

Another change in tempo, and this time it's a cover from Blondie's "Heart of Glass". The familiar tune brought vibrancy back and everyone was jumping up and down again. Lights' rendition was pretty spot on and I commend her for attempting (and winning) at getting those high notes.

The energy was already over capacity, but when Lights started playing the beginning of her last song "Toes",  the crazy crowd got even louder. By the end of the night, everyone was screaming at the top of their lungs. It was a bittersweet moment to catch her third to last performance and knowing it will be "Lights Out" for awhile. But don't wait too long, because the next time you see Lights, she'll be bigger, better and BRIGHTER than ever.
