Dām-Funk @ The Roxy [LA] 12/14/21
Dām-Funk has been an unsung hero of keeping funk alive over the past decade. At the storied Roxy Theater on Tuesday night, Dām-Funk headlined a show to support the Union Rescue Mission, the largest homeless shelter in Los Angeles. Accompanied with a three-piece band, the Pasadena-native delivered his passion for funk through songs such as “The Flow,” “Hood Pass in Intact,” “Mirrors,” and “We Continue” which feature beautiful synths, bass, and an array of space-age funk sounds.
Opening for Dām-Funk was Australian producer Harvey Sutherland and Compton native HOLLAND IZZ. Each of their latest singles, “Jouissance” and “Too Damn Stressed”, respectively, are available on streaming services now. Dām-Funk brought out Jay Worthy to perform “Can’t Do That” which is set to appear on their future joint album.
Above the Fray, Dām-Funk’s latest album is available on all streaming services.
