Joshua Karpeh has seen his stock rise since his days as a music student at George Washington University. The multi-instrumentalist had been prolific in his SoundCloud output in his early days, leading to the release of multiple EPs and even a song of his making it onto the HBO show Insecure. But even rising stars don’t forget where they came from, and at his sold-out U Street Music Hall show, GW students and alumni alike pridefully yelled the university’s catch phrase “Raise high” while others simply took in the relaxed vibes that Karpeh provided on saxophone, flute, and guitar.

Even though he often sings of his own troubles and woes, Cautious Clay can make any song sound like a laid-back summer day.

Cautious Clay’s latest single is the self-released “HONEST ENOUGH.”
