2022 All Things Go Festival @ Merriweather Post Pavilion [MD] - 10/1/2022
All Things Go returned to Merriweather Post Pavilion this year fully sold out, equipped with a killer lineup and new official mascot, Boomfy the cloud. Leading up to the weekend, many were nervously checking the weather forecast expecting it to be pouring the whole time, but luckily the rain mostly held off until the last 2 sets of the night. This was the festivalâs second year at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. The venue has hosted some of the worldâs greatest artists and its extended grounds and recent renovations made for a fantastic all-around experience. This yearâs lineup featured a powerhouse of pop and indie artists that took the attendees on a glorious emotional roller coaster. Fans even joked on Twitter about wishing there was a therapist on site to help them cope. Overall, All Things Go has proven itself on track to become one of the east coastâs top-tier festivals. Check out photos and highlights below.
Bartees Strange
Bartees Strange is a Washington D.C.-based artist who grew up in Oklahoma. His music has a multi genre flare that touches on indie rock, country, soul, and hip hop. He delivered a phenomenal vocal and guitar performance in his 30 minute set, which included a unique and explosive cover of âLemonworldâ by The National. He will also be playing at 9:30 Club on November 19th.
Maude Latour
22-year-old Maude Latour is an up and coming pop artist who gained notoriety on TikTok during the pandemic. Maude jubilantly skipped back and forth across the stage during her whole set. She just released her latest EP, 001, and her voice sounds shockingly similar to Lorde especially in the lower registers. Standouts from her setlist include âSuperfruitâ and âCyclone.â
King Princess
King Princess took the chrysalis stage with an effortlessly cool demeanor. She played 5 tracks from her latest album, Hold On Baby, and some of her bigger hits including âUpper West Side, â1950,â and âPussy is God.â She spent a good chunk of her set bantering with the crowd. A fan even shared with her that the the weekend she saw her open for Kacey Musgraces she realized she was a âraging lesbian.â King Princess brought her to the front row and dedicated âThaliaâ to her.
Mitski
Mitski has an extremely intense stage presence. She truly put all of her physical and emotional energy into her performance. Every lyric was matched with expressive interpretive choreography and a piercing stare into the crowd. She mimicked slitting her throat with the mic, scrubbing her body, and dragged herself across the stage on her hands and knees.
Bleachers
Bleachers headlined at the Chrysalis stage just as it started to steadily rain. Jack Antonoff took the stage underneath a street light that illuminated the center of the set. He opened with â91â and âGoodmorningâ and then dove into âLetâs Get Marriedâ for a dramatic change of pace. Highlights include euphoric saxophone solos, people climbing on each other's shoulders during âRoller Coasterâ and giant inflatable tomatoes being bopped around in the crowd. Their set was also being played on the big screen in the pavilion which was filled with people trying to save their spots for Lorde. They were dancing and singing along just as enthusiastically as everyone at the Chrysalis.
